Breast Cancer Awareness Day

Beast Cancer Awanress Day (also refered to as Where it Pink Day) is held every year on the 20th of October. This is a vibrant and positive campaign day with the aim to raise awarness about breast cancer, encouraging early detection and raise funds for breast cancer research and support services.

For Breast Cancer Awareness Day the SU collaborated with Coppafeel and had a table in the Union where we gave important information out to students, providing informational leaflets.

For Breast Cancer Awarness Day the SU collaberated with Coppafeel and had a table in the Union where we gave important information out to students, providing informalional leaflets.

It was great to speak with so many students and spread the word.

"‘Think Pink’ or Breast Cancer Awareness day gave us the opportunity to educate students on the importance of checking yourself. ‘Whatever you call em’. Check em’!’ is an inclusive tagline CoppaFeel uses as a way of highlighting the fact that anyone with breast tissue can be affected by this. As a student I was committed to Tickled Pink and loved delivering the boob schools to debunk some myths surrounding breast cancer. It affects more people than you’d think, whether that be directly or indirectly most people will understand the effects this can have on families. It’s important in our community that we can recognise and educate on this matter. And it’s important to me to be able to engage people in this conversation. It is not just a women's problem."
