American football is one of the fastest growing sports in the UK, if you want to try something different yet rewarding, come and try out to be part of the Tarannau family.

Tarannau Aberystwyth American Football Club has been part of Aberystwyth University since 1992, being one of the first UK universities to have an American football team. As a club we have a very proud history, this is evident through our strong links with our Old Boys who help the club with funding, coaching and sponsorship.

American football is a relatively niche sport in the UK, but with the NFL international series in London, the popularity of the sport has continued to grow due to the exciting and intellectual nature of the sport. As a result, most people will have never had the opportunity to play American football until they reach this level, so if you've watched the NFL and found it to interest you or enjoy physical contact come on down to our training sessions: Training times TBC.

We compete in League 2 South West and usually play six regular season games yearly. This year however, we only have 5 games. We will play Bath Spa University, University of Gloucestershire, University of Plymouth, University of West England (UWE), and University of Worcester. Our game days are as follows:

27th October: vs Worcester

3rd November: @ UWE

17th November: @ Bath Spa

8th December: @ Gloucester

16th February: vs Plymouth

Feel free to come down and support the boys on Blaendolau for our home games. It's always a brilliant atmosphere.

We host our socials every Wednesday and will be starting at White Horse (one of our sponsors), run by our social secs. We have numerous joint socials throughout the year this is a great way to meet new people in other societies and gives us an opportunity to try new sports and to get more people involved with the club. For example, with the Cheerleading society. Also, come join us at Bar 46 to watch NFL RedZone every Sunday!
