Undeb Aber’s annual Homecoming event holds a special place in the hearts of students and alumni, serving as a time for reconnection, nostalgia, and celebration.
This year’s Homecoming took place on Saturday 26th October, and saw 5 clubs and their alumni come together at different locations across campus and in town to relive their victories and create new memories together.
Badminton held a fun but competitive Halloween weekend tournament which saw a great attendance from current and alumni members alike.
“We held a Halloween tournament, everybody had fun wearing costumes and playing badminton! Two teams were up against each other, the one who got the most points at the end of the session won the tournament. Team 1 won with 521 against Team 2 with 505 points, all good and close games!” - Alice Leroy, Badminton 24/25 Secretary
Tarannau Cheerleading held a morning stunt session in the Sports Hall, followed be a reunion meal in town. It was a pleasure to see so many old girls come back and pass on their knowledge to new members to help them foster their skills and stunts.
Futsal held their Homecoming event in the Sports Cage and had a great turnout! As a relatively new club, it’s fantastic to see that they are already maintaining an excellent connection with their alumni through this event.
Homecoming was a blast! We had a good time of playing Futsal and reminiscing the good ol’ times we had with fellow alumni when they were a student member of the club. It was a great time all in all and we look forward to having another event next year! – Futsal 24/25 committee
Dance Sport and Ultimate Frisbee also enjoyed celebrating their reunions through participating in Homecoming.
The annual Homecoming event fosters a sense of unity across generations of Clubs and Societies and offers alumni especially a special insight into the legacy of their groups. Undeb Aber would like to take this opportunity to thank the Alumni Office DARO and AberFund for joint funding the event with us.
