Spotlight on Paige - Sports Coordinator
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I'm a proud mum to one little human and a fur baby. I enjoy binge-watching great TV series and playing strategic board games like Othello and Checkers. Though I wasn't born in Wales, I've lived here my whole life. I have a 1st Class Degree in Events Management, and I have a weakness for good shnacksss.
Where is home?:
The first town on the River Seven ❤️
It’s your last meal on earth…what’s on the menu?:
Always has and always will be Bubble and Squeak (the leftovers mashup from a Christmas dinner)
Outside of work, what are your favourite pastimes or hobbies?:
When I'm not being a mother, I love to ice skate! I find it very therapeutic!
What do you love about working in Aberystwyth?:
The seaside is on the doorstep to our offices, what more could you wish for!!
If you weren’t in your SU role…what would you be?:
Probably be in the wedding industry!! I love, love ❤️
Before working here, have you had much involvement with the students’ union or student groups?:
I went to University in Cardiff Met and during my time there, I was apart of the Volleyball Club and in my last year became social sec on the committee. I was also the Lead Academic Rep for my course, so had a vague idea on communications with SU's before I started here in Aberystwyth.
Tell us interesting fact about yourself (something people may be surprised to learn):
I have a scar on my eyebrow that most people think I shave on, but I actually got it from pretending I was a Rockstar when I was 7 and power slid on my knees across a slippery floor straight into the corner of a wall. I have not wanted to be a Rockstar since then!!
Why did you join the team here at Undeb Aber?:
To be apart of a community 🙂
