About Us

Training

In water polo training we will teach you the basics, develop your skills and enhance team performance through drills, fun games, and mini matches. We compete in the BUCS Leagues and Trophy, as well as in friendly matches against each other, local clubs, and even our ex-students. Many of our members join with little or no water polo experience and end up falling in love with the sport, so even if you have never played, come along to a session and give it a try!

Our swim sessions are inclusive for all abilities, with sets written by our experienced coaches to suit everyone from high level competitors to those who just wish to socialise and get some exercise. There are many chances to compete across the UK throughout the year including BUCS Short Course and Long Course Championships, BUSL, and Varsity. Everyone will get a chance to compete regardless of ability, and it is a great experience if you have never competed in the sports before.

Socials

Our society is renowned for its socials, meeting every Wednesday night at 8pm with a new theme every week! We also offer sober socials such as beach bonfires and meals out. Socials are a great way to get to know new people and develop lifelong friendships with other members outside of the pool.

We offer a reduced-fee social membership for those who only want to join in for the social side of AUSWP. Non-drinkers and non-swimmers are very welcome too!

We are so proud of our community of swimmers, polo players, and supporters, and we can’t wait to meet you! Everyone is welcome regardless of personal experience, situations and beliefs, and our hard-working committee is here to support you at all times.
